1. Get Involved at the Cache County Senior Center

The Cache County Senior Center is a great place to make friends and choose from a variety of activities to do. No matter where you are physically, mentally, and socially, there is something for you. They have weekly activities so you have the chance to do different things each week and keep your life fun and exciting. Participating in these activities will also allow you to enjoy the company of people your age who have lots of things in common. Fueling that sense of belonging will drive your purpose and love for life in your community.

2. Stroll Around Historic Downtown Logan

One of the simplest but enjoyable ways to spend time as you get older is to walk around and explore. It is a great way to stay active and also learn new things about your city. If you love window shopping, looking at art, and simply connecting with others, you will love taking a stroll through downtown. It is an easy way to pass time, appreciate the community, and enjoy with whoever you want.

3. See What Utah State University Has to Offer

Though not the biggest city in Utah, it has grown in popularity due to Utah State University being in the center of it. Even though they mostly cater to college students, some things are offered that seniors can enjoy, such as:

  • Aggie Ice Cream: If you love ice cream, the shop on campus will cure all your sugar cravings. It is run by students and they love interacting with those that come to visit them in the community.
  • Football Games: If you are a football fan, attending a USU football game will bring that excitement into your life. Especially if you are an alumni, it is a great way to stay involved and show your dedication and love for the school.
  • Fairs: USU will put on fairs in the community to get everyone involved and bring out that school spirit throughout the town. They will usually be accompanied by food and music to enjoy as well.
  • Marching Band Concerts: If you love music, attending a marching band concert is a must. It is a way to enjoy music and support the college.

If you love nature and the outdoors, Logan is a great place to live. Whether it’s exploring nature or participating in outdoor recreational activities, you can find something that you enjoy. As you age, finding peace in nature can become even more prevalent. Here are some ways you can find that:

Logan Canyon Drive

If you don’t feel like hiking or walking, a great way to see nature’s beautiful views is through canyon drives. In the fall you can catch the leaves as they change color and offer an amazing scenic drive through the canyon.

Zootah

If you love wildlife along with nature, make sure to visit Zootah at Willow Park. It is a great way to learn more about these animals and enjoy a nice outing with the family.

Wind Caves

If you are up for a hike, the wind caves are a great choice. The hike is relatively easy and the views are worth it. If your body allows, this is a must for locals.

First Dam

If you like scenic views and walks by the water, First Dam is the place for that. You can also fish and feed the birds for a fun and peaceful activity.

6. Visit Local Historic Museums

If you are into art and history, visiting local museums and galleries would be the perfect thing for you. It’s a learning, do-at-your-own-pace type of experience that is great for those who are older. Three local museums that are filled with artifacts and pieces of art are The Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art, American West Heritage Center, and Cache Valley Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

7. Support the Performing Arts

If you enjoy music, dancing, and acting, supporting your local community in performing arts can be a great experience.
