How To Determine The Cost Of Assisted Living

What is the cost of assisted living?” A seemingly straight-forward question. But unfortunately, it doesn’t have a straight forward answer. Nobody can remain young forever. As people get older, they need more personal and medical care. Our assisted living facilities are designed to provide the medical and personal care the senior member of your family deserves.

The cost of assisted living varies depending on multiple factors. The three most common are the admission fees, the size of room, and the level of care the patient needs. Adding up the cost of these three factors can provide a very accurate estimate of the total cost of assisted living.

Admission Fee

In order to secure your room an admission fee is necessary. Generally, the admission is around $750. However, some assisted living facilities admission fees differ depending on the location or bedroom. This fee reserves your loved one a room in the facility. Additionally, the admission fee funds the early stages of their personal care plan to ensure a smooth transition from home to a care facility.

Assisted facility rent

The size of the room selected will play a large part in determining the cost of assisted living. Prices for rooms can often range between $2,450 to $3,250 each month. The offerings for rooms vary greatly from one assisted living company to the next, so we highly recommend taking a tour of the facility before moving in. In our facilities we offer semi-private, small, large, and one bedroom studio apartments. Each room consists of a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower, closet, large windows with your own controls for AC/heater, Satellite Television, and WIFI! There are also kitchenettes in all our rooms with plenty of cabinet space. All kitchenettes come with beautiful granite counter-tops, a sink and refrigerator.

Small assisted living facilities provide a great lifestyle and amazing level of care for your loved one. Michael Robbins, Operating Partner with The Gables, explains beautifully the benefits of our small assisted living facilities, especially during these uncertain times. Level of care

Determining exactly how much care your aging loved one requires can be difficult. Are there physical or mental condition that need extra attention? How about medication management? What stages of dementia are present?  This is why our Gables Administration Team conducts a full care assessment to evaluate the level of care each patient needs. This assessment is a key factor for creating a personalized care plan for each individual. We work closely with their doctor, home health agency, pharmacy and of course family. We do a Full Care Assessment for every potential resident because at the end of the day, the care of your loved one is the highest priority.

If you would like more information on the assessment process, how our levels of care are determined or what the levels are, please email us.
