Much like in an assisted living home, we offer services that will help our residents in their daily lives. In-home care is no exception to that. We want to make sure that the day-to-day lives of our residents are enjoyable and fulfilling without all of the hassle of everyday tasks. Some of the services that we offer with our in-home care include but are not limited to are:

Laundry

Keeping up with the laundry is a task that can sometimes seem to be impossible. Dirty clothes just seem to pile up no matter how hard one tries to stay on top of it. At The Gables, our staff wants to make sure that your clothes are clean and ready for you to wear. When we stop by to help our residents, we make sure to wash, dry, and fold their clothes so that they are not faced with the daunting task of taking care of all of their laundry.

Grocery Shopping

Grocery shopping not only takes a lot of time, but also a lot of energy. Fighting your way through the store to only realize that they are out of stock of a product is very frustrating. We will take care of the hassle of grocery shopping so that our residents do not have to. We will take your list to get you the food that you would like, and then go shopping so that you can have food, toiletries, and cleaning supplies in your house for whenever you may need them.

Not only do we take care of your grocery shopping for you, but we will also help you make meals. It is so important to us that our residents are happy and healthy, so we will make meals that will supply the resident with all of the nutrients that he or she may need. The health of our residents is our top priority, so we will make meals that are personalized to meet all of their wants and needs. After making the meals for the resident, our staff will take the time to wash and clean up all of the mess that the meal preparation made.

Medication Reminders

Taking medication consistently is essential for the medicine to actually work. However, taking medication consistently is something that a lot of elderly people struggle with. It is common for them to forget whether or not they have taken their medication for the day. As a part of our in-home care, we will help remind our residents to take their medication. This way, there will be no days skipped, and they will be consistent in taking their medications.

Chores

Keeping a clean house is another task that may seem to be impossible at times. Not only do messy houses create a feeling of disorganization, but they also present potential safety hazards. If there are things on the floor, residents are more likely to trip and to seriously hurt themselves. No matter how big or small the chores you have around your house are, we want to help. Our housekeeping services include cleaning up rooms, vacuuming, washing the dishes, as well as cleaning the bathrooms. 

Not only do we offer housekeeping tasks, but we also have an option for heavier chores that may need to be done. We offer deep cleaning services so that your house can be sparkling clean. Another option is yardwork. We know how much pride people take in their yards, and we want to make sure that our resident’s yards stay looking taken care of. That way, they can still take care of the appearance of their yard without having to worry about all of the hard manual labor that goes into maintaining it.

Bathing

Personal care is so important in the health and happiness of people. As we become older, bathing not only becomes a task that is more difficult to complete, but it also could become a safety hazard. Slipping on wet floors is a sure way to really get hurt. We help our residents with bathing, as we know that it can take a lot of time and energy if they try to complete this task themselves. We are also there to make sure that our residents are safe as they bathe themselves.
